Anastasia Beverly Hills Single Eye Shadows (Swatches + Review)

Anastasia Beverly Hills single eye shadows were launched on November 18th! There are about 84 shades and they're divided into 8 formulas: Titanium, Duo-Chrome, Ultra-Matte, Metallic, Satin, Shimmer, Velvet and Sparkle.

Shades I own

So far I have 33 shades in total: 16 single eye shadows and the others are from the Tamanna & Maya Mia Palettes (some of the shades from palette aren't sod individually).

Titanium

Described as a "highly-pigmented metallic shadow with a smooth texture and intense multidimensional shimmer" 

There are 9 shades but I only have 3 shades:

1. Rosette: Rich Burgundy
2. Wine: Peachy Cooper
3. Chocolate: Warm dark brown with heavy shipper (Tamanna Palette)

Duo Chrome

Described as a "high-intensity formula with color shifting, prismatic iridescence."

There are 6 shades but I only have 3 shades:

1. Blushing: Rosy Lilac
2. Iridescent Purple: Purple with Blue Iridescence
3. China Rose: Rosy Peach (Tamanna Palette)

You can spray water or fix plus to create a more metallic finish. This will give you a better color payoff.

Ultra-Matte

Described as a "blendable suede-like formula that provides a smooth, opaque matte finish." 

There are 26 shades but I only have 10 shades:

1. Nude: Ashy-Nude (Maya Mia Palette)
2. Fresh: Ivory Pink (Tamanna Palette)
3. Warm Taupe: Taupe brown (Maya Mia Palette)
4. Orange Soda: Pastel Peach
5. Caramel: Warm medium brown (Maya Mia Palette)
6. Morocco: Brick
7. Deep Plum: Deep Maroon
8. Deep Brown: Deep chocolate brown (Maya Mia Palette)
9. Sienna: Red brown (Maya Mia Palette)
10. Noir: Deep Carbon Black (Tamanna Palette)

Recommended shades: Sienna, Noir & Morocco

Fresh is a nice subtle shade for bone highlight but I prefer MAC Shroom or Ricepaper. I personally wouldn't buy it as single eyeshadow. I mainly use it before it's in Tamanna palette.

There are 13 shades but I only have 3 shades:

Described as a "weightless formula with a buttery texture and soft sheen."

There are 5 shades but I have all except dusty rose:

1. RTW: Peachy fawn
2. Bengal: Warm peachy brown
3. Fresh Peach: Coral peach

Sparkle

Described as a "smooth formula with light-reflecting particles that provide a dazzling finish."

There are 4 shades but I have all except dark chocolate shimmer:

1. Rich Velvet: Burgundy with silver sparkle
2. Black Diamond: Black with gold Sparkle
3. Night Sky: Black with silver sparkle

Overall Impression

I really like Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadows! They're quite comparable to MAC eyeshadows!

• Some of them do have some fallout (mostly shimmer and sparkle shades), while the others barely have any.

• Some the shades are quite pigmented especially the darker ones. 

• For the most part, these eyeshadows are easy to blend. Shades such as Chocolate and Noir or shimmery shades can be harder to blend though.

Recommended shades: Sienna, Noir, Morocco, Emerald

Are they worth it? Yes, if you are buying in a palette because you will save more. However, I wouldn't buy them at $12 each. I find that it's a little too pricey. 

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks (Review & Lip Swatches)

These liquid lipsticks have been around for awhile but the packaging has changed. These are claimed to be long-wearing and pigmented lipsticks with matte finish. They're infused with Vitamin A, C and E for added hydration. Each lipstick retails for $24 CAD ($19 USD) and contains 0.22 oz of product.

UPDATE: Here's my latest video with lip swatches of 12 shades (Lolita, Bow N Arrow, Lolita II, Susperia, Double Dare,  Berlin, Beloved, Bachelorette, Oulaw, Nosferatu, Vampira, Exorcism).

  

I initially bought the shade Lolita and I was in love with it (I can see why everyone raves about it), so I ordered 3 more: Outlaw, Bachelorette and Vampira. I also have a deluxe sample of Berlin.

Application

It has a doe-foot applicator that makes it easy to apply.

How to Apply: Draw lip outline with applicator tip and then fill in color. When you first apply it, it looks glossy but then it dries down to a matte finish in less than a minute. Try to work fast because when it dries out, you get less control.

Tip: If your lips aren't smooth or feel dry, then exfoliate and moisturize your lips before applying these. That will give a better application. 

How to Remove: These come off easily with waterproof makeup remover!

Lolita - dusty rose

This is my favorite out of all of them! It's their most popular shade and it's usually sold out online. Many people noted that the color has changed though and that it's darker than the original one. However, that color will be re-released as "Lolita II" along with other new shades in 2015. I love this shade as it is but I'd love to buy that one as well just to see how it compares to this one.

 Berlin - warm rose

This is such a vibrant color! I'll most likely will be wearing it during spring/summer because it's quite bright.

Bachelorette - dark reddish fuchsia

This is such a beautiful shade! I like the fact that it's not too bright and I'd  personally wear this throughout the whole year.

Outlaw - brick red

I love red, so there's no doubt I had to get this one! It's a must-have! I find red looks great on almost everyone.

Vampira - deep reddish burgundy

True to it's name; this is definitely a vampy lipstick! It reminds me of a lot of MAC Diva. This is also another of their popular shade!

Review

I love these liquid lipsticks! They're very pigmented, matte and long wearing (that's exactly what I look for in lipsticks). They can be a little tricky to apply but I don't mind. I'd love to own all of the shades. I've been trying to get my hands on Bauhau5 but it's usually sold out! I'm also very excited for the release of new shades in 2015.

Pros 

• Pigmented: These lipsticks are very pigmented! In just one swipe, you can cover most of your lips. 

• Matte: These apply like a gloss but dry down to a matte finish. 

 

• Long-wearing: These last me at least 6 hours even when I eat. I barely need to touch up. Keep in mind that if you eat oily/greasy food then these will start fading away quickly. 

• Fade away nicely: They fade away beautifully. By that I mean it doesn't leave a line around your lips like some lipsticks/glosses do.

• Little or no transfer: Once these liquid lipsticks dry out, there's barely any or no transfer at all. You won't have to worry about having lipstick on your teeth later on (it can happen only when you apply them).

Cons

• Slightly uncomfortable on lips: Although these don't dry out your lips, they certainly do feel dry. It bothered me a little at first but then I got used to it.

Sigma 3DHD Brushes Review

Sigma Beauty 3D brushes are multifunctional and are great to apply liquid, cream and powder products on each curve, crease and angle. The 3DHD Kabuki brush is designed for all areas, while the 3DHD Precision brush is for smaller areas of the face.

 

• Ridge: The ridge is angled, so it allows you to reach the hard-to-reach areas. Its structure allows you to apply foundation without having to move a single muscle of the face. 

• Double wedge flat surface: You can apply product using one side of brush and use the other side to smooth it out for a streak-free application.  

• Point: The sharp point can be used for precision application. It's great for under eye area and around the mouth. 

• Dimensions and density of fibres: Dimensions provide fast application and the density of fibres buff products into skin. Also, the fine fibres provide coverage of skin pores.

Review

  

• Multifunctional: You can use it to apply liquid, cream or powder products. I personally don't use it for powder products though. I prefer using it with liquid/cream products. You can use it to apply the product and blend it out.

• Streak-free application: You can use one side of brush to apply the product and the other side to smooth it out for a streak-free application.

• Great for hard-to-reach areas: The sharp point is great to apply product on hard-to-reach areas (under eye, around the lips, eyebrows). It's also great to clean up those areas. 

• Provides great coverage: I love the coverage I get with these brushes. It certainly gives more coverage than using a beautyblender.

Sigma 3DHD Kabuki

• Multifunctional: I love using this to apply foundation. It makes it easy to reach the smaller areas as well. I like to use it to clean up the under eye area or around the mouth. I

• In comparison to BeautyBlender: This brush gives you a better coverage than a beautyblender. I personally like a more dewy look, so sometimes I look using my beautyblender to sheer it out. Also, beautyblender is great for creamy or thicker consistency. If it's too thin, it will absorb the product) so in that case I prefer using brushes.

• In comparison to Sigma Flat Kabuki (F80): There's not much difference between these two brushes. It gives you same coverage but 3D brush just gives you a more precise application. However, if you already have a flat kabuki brush and you're not looking for precision, than you don't need this brush.

Sigma 3DHD Precision

• Precise application: If ever you need a smaller brush to clean up or apply products on hard-to-reach areas, then this is great. 

• Not great for under eye area: It takes much longer to blend concealer/highlighter under the eye area. I prefer using a beautyblender instead. 

• In comparison to BeautyBlender: This brush gives you a better coverage than a beautyblender but it takes longer to blend out the under eye area, so I prefer using beautyblender instead. 

• Not a must-have: I find it can be inconvenient. It does give you precision but I barely use this brush. If you're on a budget and you're debating whether you should get this brush, I'd say skip on this one and get the 3DHD Kabuki brush instead.

Overall Impression

These are great quality brushes and totally worth the price. However, these aren't must-haves if you already own brushes that you're satisfied with. If you're building your brush collection though, then I'd recommend getting 3DHD Kabuki because it's multifunctional and you get more out of your buck. On the other hand, you can skip the 3DHD Precision because it's not as useful as the kabuki one.

If ever you do want more precision and don't mind spending the money on these brushes, then I'd recommend buying them. I don't regret buying them at all because I know I will use them (I use 3DHD Kabuki more).
