New Year's Eve Makeup Tutorial

Here's a gold glitter makeup tutorial and my brother did my voiceover. He was so lost and had no clue why I applied so much makeup lol Special thanks to him for doing this. I had to ask him for weeks before he actually agreed to do it. I'm also planning to film a video with my other brother. :D

In this video, I tried out L'Oreal Total Cover Foundation 309 Caramel Beige (Review should be up next week). Also, I wanted to do a quick demo of Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Mask. I don't have a full size of it and not sure if I'm willing to spend that much on a mask but I do find it makes my skin soft and my makeup applies nicely.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation Cashew Review

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation retails for $42 USD ($48 CAD).  It comes in a glass bottle and contains 1 fl oz (30 mL) of product. It doesn't come with a pump, so I bought a foundation pump from MAC.
Product Claims
  • 24-hour staying power
  • Lightweight
  • Oil-Free
  • Buildable Formula
  • Fragrance-Free and Non-Acnegenic
Here's my review of Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation (Cashew 3W2). I also tested it out for 7 hours. I have combination/oily skin and for shade reference I'm in NC40-NC42 in MAC (I've listed out the foundations below). If ever you have Indian/Pakistani/NC42/Tan/Brown skin then hopefully you can get an idea of how the shade Cashew looks on someone with a deeper skin tone.

Review

  • Finish: Semi-matte (natural finish)
  • Coverage: Medium to Full Coverage
  • Wear time: I tested it out for about 7 hours and it looks pretty good. I have oily t-zone and it gets a bit oily throughout the day but it's not as bad compared to other foundations.
Application: I decided to apply it with a beauty blender and Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional Primer on one side and Sigma 3DHD Kabuki Brush on the other side. I noticed when I applied with a brush, it did cling more on dry patches and it looked a bit cakey, whereas the beautyblender side looked more natural but provided less coverage. What I like to do is apply it with a brush and then blend it out with beautyblender after. Also, I have combination skin and I have an oily T-zone, so whenever I wear this foundation, I do have to set it properly.

Coverage: This is a medium to full coverage foundation and gives a flawless finish. I have mild redness and it covered it well. It did a good job at concealing my dark circles but I would still need a corrector or concealer. It also covered most of my acne scars. It's buildable but I don't like building it up too much especially with a brush because I noticed it can easily end up looking cakey.

Pros:
  • Full Coverage
  • Flawless finish
  • Long wearing
  • Lightweight
  • Photographs well
  • Wide range of shades
Cons
  • Slightly clings on dry patches
  • Doesn't come with pump

Shades
There are 35 shades available at Sephora and I got mine in Cashew 3W2. If you're not sure what shade to get, check out my blog post where I listed MAC shades and videos by other YouTubers wearing all the shades.

Shade ReferenceI don't own any MAC foundation but I should be around NC40-NC42 in MAC. Click here for my blog post with list of foundations that are good match for my skin tone.
Here are some of the foundations that match me well:

MAC NC40/MAC NC42/Indian/Pakistani/Brown/Deep/Tan Skin

Foundation Shade Reference (MAC NC40)

I usually rely on other YouTubers to find the right foundation for my medium deep skin tone, so I've decided to list out all the current foundations I own that match me well. These are more suitable for people with brown/tan/Pakistani/Indian/Olive skin tone. I don't own MAC foundation but I should be around NC40. I will keep updating this blog post with time. Click here for my YouTube Foundation Playlist.

Update: I just recently reviewed MAC Foundation Stick and I like the fact that the shade didn't oxidize on me as opposed to MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC40, which oxidizes and looks a bit warmer for my skin tone.

Here are some of the foundations that match me well:

I'm in between 308 and 309.

This one is warmer for my skin tone but I can easily pull it off in winter.

Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation - Desert Beige
The shade Desert Beige is a bit darker though but I think I can pull it off in winter.
